She sure is a sweetheart, but she's definitely got a lot of berner. Markings can come in all different variants and Berners can look very unique especially in the white (we've looked at MANY in the process of getting our pup). The variable coat patterns are just differing gene expression which happens all the time.
At least in the pictures, your girl does not have the 'Collie' nose or bone structure. She has the large paws, a broad chest bone, a tail and the crimpled ear hair that are very characteristic of the breed
We've had a lot of people who aren't familiar with the breed ask if our pup is a border collie or an aussie, but its only because of the tri-markings and her smaller stature.

If you can't find her original family, I wish you all the best. Berners are definitely a lot of joy!!! Enjoy her as she grows
