Our boy is just over 2 years old. He is what I'd call a very sturdy looking Berner, a large dog who weighs about 100 pounds but the weight is distributed well over his heavy boned body and he does not carry any extra fat. Our girl Berner (aged 4) has a tall, long-legged look to her, she is taller than Leo but weighs about 10 pounds less. Her father was a HUGE fellow, almost like a small Newfoundland dog, and he carried 125 pounds on his massive frame. We have friends with 2 Berners who are quite small, they look more like the size of a smaller Collie and I'd bet they don't weigh more than 70 pounds each. Our breeder has over 10 dogs, some very large, some smaller. I guess what I'm saying, Berners come in different body shapes to some degree. You should always be able to see a nice definition to their shape - too much weight can be very harmful to their joints.
