Ive seen a few people are feeding raw. Im thinking about switching but Im not very comfortable with it yet so I may try the "pre-made" route. Anyone have experiance with it?
TIA. |

I am feeding my puppy, Briggs, Nature's Variety Raw Frozen Diet. He loves it. I try to feed him only one meat for approx. two weeks so that I can monitor his stools. In the beginning when we brought him home and switched him over, I added a little bit of pumpkin to his food which helped make them more firm. I don't have to do that anymore, but still do sometimes. Right now while he is a puppy we are feeding him three times a day. He is gaining about 3 - 4 pounds a week. A man at the pet store told me to go to the grocery store and buy some sardines packed in olive oil. I buy King Oscar Sardines in extra virgin olive oil, and give him maybe 4 - 5 (sardines, not packages) of them with some of the oil as treats two to three times a week. Wow. He really loves this. Can't stop licking the bowl. This man who was just a customer told me how good the oil would be for him and his coat. I have to agree.
What did you end up feeding your dog? |

Hi, I have been feeding my Berner male a raw diet sence he was 41/2 month old. He is now 1 year. I have nothing but praise for this way of feeding. He loves it, looks great, has a wonderful coat and beautiful teeth. I also swithed my 10 year old dog the same time and he is doing wonderful. He gets raw meating bones for a morning meal and a meat meal in the evening. He also gets, fish and organ meats . It really is simple once you get the hang of it. I would advise anyone thinking about it to do some research and go ahead. You and your dog will be happy and healthy |
