What kind of doggy treats do you give your dog?
Throughout the last few years, the whole pet-industry has expanded so much that there are hundreds of kinds of doggy treats. I can't decide which one's the greatest. |

I always thought they were pretty much along the same line. The vet I know gives us big bags of one of the brands he thinks is best though so I've never had to buy treats before for dogs I've had.

Wow, our vet never gave us treats
But it was a lot of fun to go through all of the doggy treat brands -there are so many! I usually research a bit to see what other people think. |

We buy the 97% fat free chicken jerky treats from Costco. It is a huge bag for about 15$ and Maya loves them.

Nubia's favorite treat / chew toy is a big bone. Yep the real thing. I go to the butcher and ask for a couple of the large bones that still have some scraps of beef on them. I boil these and then she goes nuts with them! First she nibbles at the little bits of meat and then once the bone is licked clean she spends hours chewing away (the bone is big enough that there is no way she could actually bite any part off, just a good work out for her).
Oh and the bones are free. The butcher would discard them anyway so... ![]()

Those bones are a great idea! But I would suggest leaving them raw to give to her. Cooking the bones makes them harder and pieces that she bites off can be sharp. The raw bones are softer, more flexible when bitten off in small pieces. And the raw meaty pieces are easier to digest when raw. Cooked meat can become compacted in the digestive system and cause a whole mess of problems.
