Hi,
The only homemade treats I really do is dehydrated chicken. I have a dehydrator and I slice chicken very thin and dehydrate it for about 9 hrs. My dogs love the chicken strips and I know that nothing else has been added. I have also done sweet potatos and they love them.

There are so many kinds of dog food. Like Commercial dog food, Wet dog food, Alternative dog food, Raw dog food, etc. So You have to get know What are the best type for your dog. Because, Dog food refers to food specifically intended for consumption by dogs.

what a cool idea!!! I never thought of this but i am going to give it a try. I don't feed treats at all except a dog cookie when I leave for work. storm knows this and excepts that when he gets the cookie i am gone for a while. I am going to try the chicken though. thank you

I feed Charlie Wellness large breed, and he gobbles it up. It's grain free w/ a nice ingredient list....I feed my cat Wellness brand too.

When we got Charlie at 7 months old, his previous owner was feeding Science Diet. His poops were frequently soft and he had constant gas. Within a week of switching to Wellness everything was better. Just look at the ingredients in whatever you choose...the first 3-4 make up the majority of the content.

I love the natural Balance Sweet Potatoe and fish. I ONLY switched because where we are the only stores that carried it were 45 minutes away and I got tired of having none in a pinch if I accidently ran out. We switched to Taste of the wild which everyone local carries and it works nicely.

Hi all,
Another thing you can try is canned pumpkin. Not the mix but just plain canned pumpkin. Good for both constapation or diarreha. I give a big tablespoon to each after each meal whether there is a problem or not. It seems to really work and they love it. They come running to the kitchen to get there pumpkin

Old HIGHLY Recommend "Urban Wolf"

My 22 week Berner has been on Urban Wolf since he could eat solid food. Urban Wolf is a food that can be fed raw or cooked. It is home made and time consuming yes but it is full of antioxidants (to ward off that nasty cancer they are prone to) and results in lovely poo that can be picked up. Any time I feed Axel kibble (good quality stuff like Orijans or Taste of the Wild or Go) he has loose stools.

Worth a shot.

Check out Urban Wolf's website.

The recipe is 2lbs medium ground beef, 1/2 cup sunflower oil, can of sardines, water, flax seed, puppy balancer (for now) and a cup and a bit of the Urban Wolf grain mixture and voila!! Poo hevaen! You can make big batches and freeze so you just "cook" once a week for pup.
