Does TOTW have a formula for large breed puppies?

They just came out with two formulas of puppy food, High Prairie and Pacific Stream, nothing specific to large breed. It's also pretty hard to find, we live in Northern VA and had to order a bag online as none of the local stores have it in stock yet. My girlfriend was in Ohio last week and found it at Pets Supplies Plus. We just switched our new BMD puppy to TOTW High Prairie and he is doing well on it and seems to like it. We were feeding him Wellness for Large Breed Pups and he had really soft/wet stool.

We have used Wetlands Canine TOTW since he was 8wks and have had no problems. There was no puppy formula but based on my research, for growth and development, he was better off not being on the puppy formula. He continues to gobble it up with every feed. We currently still feed him 3x/day and he is four months old.

My personal opinion with foods, with research and communication with my vet and others, is that there are a lot of different foods and formulas out in the market. There are lots of really high end foods that are just too rich for most dogs, and of course super expensive, as long as you are buying a reputable brand and your #1 ingredient source is "MEAT" you will usually be fine...you want to stay away from the low end foods as they do contain a lot of fillers and stuff. We feed both of ours Purina Pro Plan (Shredded Blend), and they love it, it's the Lamb/Rice formula. We have had no issues with stool or otherwise. There are a lot of folks that love their dogs but just can't afford the overpriced foods out there, and good quality and good nutritional foods can be found with a little leg work on the front end.

We struggled with this prior to getting 'Dobbins'- and we finally settled on Wellness Super5Mix. He has been on it for two years and is doing well. It's expensive, but he's worth it!

Just because it's the most expensive doesn't mean it's always the best...a lot of those super high end foods can be too rich for dogs and their digestive systems, and can cause GI problems long term (via experience, research and veterinarian experience) and just contain more ingredients then what is actually needed, it's all a marketing ploy. Yes, I'm sure that some of them have good balance and mixtures of ingredients...but it's just like taking a vitamin, you think that if you take two you get twice the results, when in fact all your body does is discard everything over what it needs.

Wellness is a very good brand of dog food. My breeder, who feeds RAW, recommended it as a top tier food. I switch between wellness super5 and Now! Grain Free for a variety. Now! was recommended by a friend who owns a BARC rescue Berner, now 8, and another Berner who is almost 9. She feeds Now! but also RAW and explains she's never had any major health concerns with her girls. Touch wood!
Feeding a good brand of food doesn't guarantee you wont have any issues but it helps stack the cards in your favour.
But these dogs can be picky eaters or have sensitive stomachs so it's pretty much up to your pup! Supplementing your pup is also something you should look into. If her diet is lacking omega 3 & 6s supplement her! This is a great cancer preventative (again not 100% guarantee). Also remember that omega 3 & 6's can be blood thinning so refrain from supplementing these at least a few days before and after surgery.

Talk to your breeder and congrats on your pup!!
