our 7 month old berner pup Luke died in a tragic accident last night, he somehow escaped from the kitchen while we were in the dining room, and he got into another room with apetizers like his favorite thing cheese, and he died in front of our very eyes in the kitchen he was struggling and then he fell over and was not breathing, dead. by the time we heard him making hucking sounds sounds he died seconds later, so he either choked on something or inhaled something he was eating. We are so devastated, but we are trying to cope with the loss of our young new family member and friend. We miss him so much and cannot believe he is gone.
Some people may call us crazy, but we couldn't think of living without a great Berner. After some phone calls and amazing coincidences we have ended up with a handsome berner named Hannibal a 3 year old nuterd show dog who is quiet and just wants to be around you and to get his belly rubbed. He is being a real big help in morning over the loss of the best dog i had ever seen, and my first dog. So as fate would have it we were able to quickly receive a house guest who hopefully become permanent member of the family, we may fortunately be able to get a berner puppy by the end of the month since many phone calls were made. And this dog would be able to teach the pup the ropes of things as he grows up. Its been a devastating week for me having finals, coming home and he dies the first night im home. But we're trying very hard to not let this ruin all of our lives. But I can't think but that luke would of wanted to raise another a great dog full of love and happiness in a great environment that we can provide for them. Here's Hannibal http://www.bernertalk.com/attachment...1&d=1261282015 ![]() and here's our poor luke is in doggy heaven now ![]()

How Horrible for you and your family. I dont even know what to say..... I am sorry, just doesnt seem like enough.. I am sure it is equally hard not really knowing what happened?? You have to take some comfort in knowing that Luke had a wonderful family to love him and that you gave him a great life.
I know it is bittersweet, but congrats on the new family member... I know he wont be able to replace Luke, but he will also have a wonderful home now. |
