Old Grass - settling tummy...
Junior Member
Hi there,

From what I understand, most dogs eat grass as a digestive aid or to settle their tummies. Maybe his taste in food has changed?? It happens! Have you tried him on anything different? What if you tried (and this is great for the upset tummy since he is eating grass and getting sick) boiling some chicken breast, chopping it up really fine and mixing it with cooked white rice? I've also heard that if you mix pumpkin in there too (not the pie filling ) it helps with their digestive problems (it helps with the runs, it helps with constipation...almost like it's the miracle food or something!). Maybe too sprinkling some probiotic powder on it too? This will help balance some of the stuff going on in his tummy. You can get puppy probiotics at some of the good pet food stores.

Good luck and let me know how it goes! I hope these suggestions were helpful!? Not a fun thing to be going through for sure!

Cheers,

Bully sticks are an excellent way for a dog to satisfy its natural need to chew.

Can't agree more. It smells so bad (the stick) tho haha but Milo loves it like there's no tomorrow! I bought 2 kongs and filled it with peanut butter, his biscuits, treats, soft food... he went crazy for a while and then zilch.

But with a bully stick, he would finish the whole stick at one sit if I let him.

Hi there
i had a trouble with my berners behaviour too, then i asked a friend who is dog trainer...he told me that the kind of food i feed my dog is very important for his behaviour...he told me also to feed it with a mix of boiled rise with vegetables, fruits, beef or fish sometimes ,eggs,... i tried it and my dog don't eat anymore grass or other plants...also his behaviour changed completely.!!!(don't forget to train it every day)
