Old Housebreaking
Junior Member
Hi all,

I am a first time Berner owner. My Bernese puppy is 11 weeks old. We are having some housebreaking issues. One thing that I notice is, Milly is gated in the kitchen when we are home or only allowed in the room that we are in. However, I will leave the kitchen area to go upstairs for 5 minutes to put something away and I will leave Milly in the gated kitchen and she will pee. And literally 10 minutes before that, she peed outside. This has happened several times within the last two weeks. I almost feel like she does it out of spite, that she wants me to be in the room with her all of the time. We are crate training, but I feel bad putting her in the crate for less than 5 minutes so I can run upstairs. I dont know how to break this habit. Any suggestions? We are going to puppy kindergarten, so I will also bring this up to the trainer at the next class.
