My doggie Auggie has had quite a bit of discharge from his eyes lately. I know its not abnormal for a Berner pup but I am a bit concerned. I asked a fellow Berner owner and he recommended colide silver or silver colide? to use as eye drops. I've never heard of it but he swears by it. Just wondering if anyone here knows about it or has used it. Or, if anyone else has had this problem and treated it with something else.

My male had this also when he was a pup. I can remember that it was kinda mucusy so I did take him to the vet. He was prescribed Neo-Poly-Bac ointment, which is antibiotic ointment for the eyes. It cleared it up right away. I think its kind of common for them to get eye infections early on. If it continues I would take him to the vet. I would be hesitant to use anything in your dogs eyes that isnt prescribed by your vet.
