OK, I know I ask too many questions but which is correct or are both correct? Bernese or Berner? I would think a Bernese is the dog and a Berner might be the owner??? You know like a person that likes/owns Bernese Mt Dogs is a Berner??

Someone want to help a newbie out here?

Peace
Peewee

Ive heard both to describe the breed, not the owner. So both would be correct.

I always thought Berner was used as some sort of abbreviation of Bernese mountain dog.
I wouldn't of said it referred to the owner of a BMD.

My guess is that the Berner is short for Berner Sennenhund.
As you probably know, this is what the Bernese Mountain dog breed is called in Switzerland.
