Of course, people usually have only one dog, but how about you?

I've had two at a time once, and the biggest number was 6. But that was only because my dog had given birth to 5 puppies. So, yeah.

How about you?

The most I've ever had at once is two but that's more than enough in most cases! With cats we've had five animals in the house which makes it start feeling like a zoo but it really is nice to have so much company.

Normally I only have two dogs. However, I just had to rescue my sisters pregnant german shepherd and she just had puppies. Right now I have three adult dogs and nine puppies, for a total of 12 dogs.

I have three big dogs. It is hard sometimes, when they are excited. When I go to the dog park, I take the two boys in first, and then go back to get my old girl. She usually wants to go back in the car after a while, so that makes it easier for me. Walking all three is also fine until they see someone or something they want to play with. We have a queen sized bed, and I think next time we will go for a king - but if anyone spends the night on the bed it is my 13 yo, and she doesn't take up much space anymore (she was 95 lbs in her prime, about 70 now). Also, I need a larger sofa a sectional next time instead of a sofa and loveseat - that way we can all cuddle. I would say two is best, but I always have room for one more in a pinch!

The most I've had at one time was three. Two Bernese (97lb male and an 83lb female) and an Australian Shepherd mix (40lbs).

Currently have the male Bernese and a six month old Bernese bitch.

Growing up, I had two dogs at one time, Dempsey & Rascal. When I moved to Virginia, I adopted a Scottie, Bonnie, then added Misty, a black lab. When hubby and I moved into our first home, we adopted Tucker, a yellow lab/German shepherd mix, who was abused and is anxious around people. We wanted to add another dog and due to Tucker's personality, we really researched breeds for the best match. The answer was a Bernese! Murphy, our first pure breed, joined us in July. She's smart, stubborn, adorable, and Tucker's best bud :0) Tucker is a great big brother, and we love how our family is growing!

This is my first Berner and I have a 2.5 year old Chocolate Labrador...I love having two dogs they complete each other!! I don't have to be the "Alpha" all the time...Yes their is more movement in the house especially when they play fight, but I will always have two dogs at the same time. If I could I would have more Bernese...
