Two things always come to mind with a Bernese:

> a wagging tail

Our Berner constantly sits on our feet, looks up at us with a smile and LEANS....her tail is constantly wagging and she always wants to be pet.

Like previously stated, Berners are joyful goof-balls who just want to be close to their humans

I'm currently owned by a Berner named Cooper. Berners love being around people. They give you the Berner Bump when they are around you and want attention. They do
love snow. My guy loves to eat it. They don't realize how big they are and always want to sit on your lap. They have the most expressive eyes. When they feel sad you can see it in their eyes. When they're being mischievous they lift their ears ever so slighty. When they want belly rubs they don't hesitate in rolling over and have you give them a good rub. When they don't want to be bothered they slighty knudge you with their huge paws. They truly are one of a kind.

I have a 6mo Male berner pup and he is my first, but I've adored the breed for many years! Most of the replies so far have really described my berner well too! I think he takes the lap dog to the next level though. He follows me from room to room as I'm doing stuff, but he has to take it up a notch and literally lay on my feet in the room I've moved to. I had to kneel to get something out of a cabinet the other day and he laid across my legs. A few weeks ago we had a friend come over and he laid on the floor to visit Loki, and Loki sat on his chest! He also sits his butt on the steps and I get he'd sit in a little chair if I got him one! His favorite thing when I first get home from work is for me to sit on the floor and he'll curl up in my lap and cuddle. He also has very expressive eyes! I usually wake up to his head a few inches from mine (he's tall enough that he can sit with his head on my bed), and his eyes just watch me and he snorts at me until I get up! His tail also has a mind of it's own. He's gotten so tall that the things on the end of my desk aren't even safe anymore! A perfect berner cartoon will include a huge destructive tail, soul eyes, and a human to sit on! Can't wait to see it!
