New to forums here and just wanted to say hi to everyone. We are from the Kootenays in S.E. B.C., Canada and got our first Berner 21 months ago. Her name is Vayda (my wife said all along this is my girl.....thus the name from the movie "My Girl")(pics in album). She is complete joy and has been from day one!!!! We love her so much that in 2 1/2 weeks we get our second Berner....my boy!!!(any name hints greatly appreciated)(here's his most recent pic)

Glad to be here with fellow Berner lovers!

Hi Dean , they are awesome dogs!!! If you don't mind me asking ....where did you get your berner from? One of Vaydas sisters went to PG but of course that was 21 months ago....she came from Red Deer, Alta.....and her half brother that we pick up in 16 days is from the same place.

We live in SE BC with our 2 Berners, a 5 yr female and 3 yr male. Good choice to get the opposite sex for the new dog. We always made sure we let our older girl do everything first when we brought home Leo as a pup; she got her bowl of food first, was first into the truck, first out the door etc. It was so easy to train him because he followed her lead, I don't know if he ever had even one accident in the house! She is a natural leader while he is a big goofy dog who lives for fun and games and sometimes she has to remind him she's the boss. Have fun with your new pup!
