I live in Southern California. I rescued a 5 (almost 6) year old Berner from a local pound. Her previous owners surrendered her. This is my first experience with the breed. We have had Ruby now for almost a week...and I am already in love. I have no idea why anyone would take her to the pound...as she is completely trained, super affectionate and gets along with everyone she meets. She is the best dog ever.
I'd love to hear from other members with older Berners with suggestions on helping her live a long, healthy life.
