Hello, my name is Gail and we are getting a BMD in the next week or so. Never had one, always have had German Shepherds. Right now, we have a Cocker Spaniel named Sadie. She has been the perfect dog.

But we live in the country, have 2 1/2 acres all fenced in and we want a bigger dog. Something that will be scary to the lowlifes who are robbing other neighbors. Last time there were break-ins around here, we were the only ones left alone. I then had a big gs named Beau.

I have 2 grandsons who are the light of my life. We want something that will be good with the boys too.

I am disabled, have trouble walking. Can't walk very far, have too sit down. I use a cane and walker at times. If we're out very far, I have to use the wheelchair.

I'm wanting to find a dog that can be my "helper", a dog that can/will walk beside me for my support and can let me use him/her for support as I get up from a sitting position.

We want a dog that will be fun to be around with and love the grandkids too.

I'm glad I found this site. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the days/weeks to come.

Gail

Not sure if he will scare the bad guys away. Storm would just help them load up if they pet him or fed him.

great with kids. storm loves the kids. One is his swimming buddy. I had the kids help train him so that he got use to commands from them.

That's a good idea about the kids helping. We are going tomorrow evening to get him/her. I don't know, my german shepherd was the same way, but nobody wanted to get close to him. I had a sign on the driveway gate with a pic of a gs on it and it said, "I can make it to the gate in 3.2 seconds. can You?" It was cute. Have to find another sign.
