I am just wondering whether I can be included in this forum as I we have a Bernese X Black Lab? Is this forum just for full breed? Thank you.

He is the sweetest puppy ever. He is all black from the Lab part of him but with a tiny slash of white on his chest. Very bulky backside.
He is amazing with the kids. He likes to just sleep by them when they are playing. He chases them but doesn't want to bite them. He is 8 weeks old and has been with us for 4 days. No potty accidents. He holds it all night. He mouths so soft and listens when you say OWWW! I think we are blessed with the best puppy ever. |

Yah we can't actually believe really. We just had a puppy nightmare with our first one. It was a Husky, Lab, Shepard , Wolf cross ( Sadie) and we we were told is was super gentle and good with kids etc. It eneded up trying to eat us from dawn til dusk( except when it was sleeping) . The kids couldn't play with it etc. We finally gave it back to the breeder as it was putting too much stress on the family and not what we were expecting from having a puppy for the family.
Baloo has turned out to be the day to Sadie's night. Thank goodness. |

Really? Huskies and Shepherds are both beautiful dogs, but "gentle" isn't a word I'd use to describe them! I think everyone I know who's had either breed has had to work really hard with them to break their aggressive tendencies.
Bernese have a reputation for being gentle giants, so I can see how they'd make a good family pet! And labs were the definitive family dog when I was growing up It'll be interesting to see if the lab side of Baloo adds a bit more energy to the Berner side! |

I have a Bernese Mountain Dog x Golden Retriever mix. She is so beautiful!! The golden mix gives her this cute puppy look. She is 4 years old now and she still looks adorable!
