Hi Everyone,

Ruby my 2 yr 4mon old berner has suddenly become very afraid of men of all shapes and sizes. I've had her since she was 8weeks old and put a lot of time and effort into socialising her to all people, cars, animals and many different situations. I have been complemented many times (by other berner people and normal (!) people) on how happy and confident she is. However , at the weekend I brought her into town and she FREAKED out on one particular street which had bunting and flags flying. It was dark and a little breezy so I put it down to that, we walked around a little more and normally she adores everyone looking at her and gives her fans plenty of hugs and kisses but this time any man that tried to pet her or approach her she backed off and tried to flee. I hate seeing her under stress like this and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to why she'd suddenly change attitude to men. She has never been mistreated and has been properly socialised which I know are the two most obvious answers people might suggest.

I have been bringing her into town and standing at the end of the street until she calms down and rewarding her making sure not to push her too far and am also getting men to stand near her and treat her.

Any ideas to what could have caused this? and how to treat it??
