    Hello.

I have a 6 month old Bernese named Bonnie.

Her ears get very dirty and fill up with wax very quickly. I have been cleaning them out with baby wipes, however she usually yelps when I try to do this and doesn't seem to like it at all.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to clean out a dogs ears?

    Thanks.

I would take her to the vet, it might be an infection. She/he could also give you ear cleaning tips while you're there!!!

I use alcohol swipes to clean out her ears. These are the same pads that diabetics use and can be purchased over the counter.

I agree with the other answer if it hurts then she may have tender raw skin or an infection.

Do her ears smell bad? If so, this is also a sign of infection.

Take her to the vet and let us know the outcome.

    I wish you the best.

Is she scratching at her ears as well? I agree..it could be an infection. I know with cats/kittens when they have "coffee ground" coloured dirt/waxy substance in their ears..that can be a sign of ear mites, not sure if the same goes for dogs.
